Nine Ocean City Businesses Cut Ribbons in One Day

Add "Blue Friday" to the list of big shopping days in Ocean City.

With blue ribbon unspooling seemingly everywhere on the island on Friday (May 24), the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce helped preside over nine different ribbon-cutting celebrations.

Some were new businesses opening in time for Memorial Day Weekend and the start of the unofficial summer season. Others were reopening after storm repairs.

The events coincided with the statewide "Stronger Than the Storm" ribbon-cutting Friday on the Ocean City Boardwalk and the city's own ribbon-cutting in the Asbury Avenue shopping district.
