Ocean City Events Schedule for September
The fun never ends with Labor Day at the Jersey Shore.

Labor Day has passed, and the kids return to school this week. But that doesn't mean an end to the fun at the Jersey Shore.
September typically brings some of the best beach and boardwalk weather, and the special events schedule remains full throughout the fall. Here are some highlights for the coming weeks:
39TH ANNUAL STREET ROD WEEKEND: More than 100 classic cars will roll into Ocean City and be displayed at the Tabernacle Grounds, 6th Street and Asbury Ave. Highlight of the weekend is a Boardwalk Exhibit from Sixth to 14th streets, noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. 36TH ANNUAL SOMERS POINT GOOD OLD DAYS FESTIVAL: The annual festival takes place in Somers Point 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at John F. Kennedy Memorial Park. The event includes children’s entertainment, carnival games, food and live music. The festival will be preceded by the Annual ‘Run for Bud’ at 9 a.m. at Kennedy Park with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. For more information, visit www.spgoodolddays.com.
SMOKEY JOE’S CAFÉ: The Broadway musical will be presented by the Ocean City Theatre Company on Sept. 6 and 7. Music legends Leiber and Stoller’s classic rock ‘n roll songs provide electrifying entertainment. Great musical theater including such hits as Poison Ivy, Love Potion #9, On Broadway, Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock, Stand By Me and more. 7:30 p.m. at the Music Pier. $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $15 group rate and for children under 12. OCEAN CITY AIRPORT FESTIVAL: The event at the Ocean City Municipal Airport at 26 Street and Bay Avenue runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, and includes ground displays of unusual airplanes. This year the show highlightis World War ll legends, including the B25J and the Grumman TBM Torpedo Bomber, the type of plane flown by former President George Bush when he was shot down. Admission free.
BOARDWALK AEROBATIC AIR SHOW: The show goes off at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, and is visible from Sixth to 14th streets on the Ocean City Boardwalk. It includes thrilling maneuvers by some of the worlds best stunt pilots and aerobatic champions. For information, call (609) 525-9300.
RUN FOR THE ART OF IT: Community Art Projects (CAP) is hosting its second annual 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1-mile Fun Race – “Run for the ART of It” — on Saturday, Sept. 14 on the Ocean City Boardwalk. Registration will begin at 7:00am with the 8:00am race taking off from the Music Pier and heading south to 23rd Street and back. T-Shirts to all pre-registered and race day while they last. CORVETTE SHOW: More than 400 cars exhibited with every model Corvette ever manufactured represented. Displayed on the Boardwalk from 6th to 10th Streets from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. Fun awards given. Call (609) 457-0081.
