Ocean City Names Top 10 in Class of 2013
The school district also recognizes other students for academic achievement.
The Ocean City Board of Education recognized the Top 10 scholars of the graduating Class of 2013 during a public meeting on Wednesday (May 22).
The 10 students had weighted grade-point averages ranging from 4.40 to 4.91. They participated in a diverse mix of extra-curricular activities. Superintendent Kathleen Taylor listed their activities and achievements along with their college choice, planned course of study and GPA (shown below).
- No. 1 David "D.J." Gilhooley: Princeton University, electrical engineering, 4.910
- No. 2 Nathan Roberts: Grove City College, biology, 4.6893
- No. 3 Kathryn Marshall: The College of New Jersey or Richard Stockton College, math education, 4.5605
- No. 4 Emily Johnson:Â The College of New Jersey, business, 4.5547
- No. 5 Gabrielle DuBruille:Â Wilkes University, pharmaceutical sciences, 4.5262
- No. 6 Mariel Salkeld:Â University of Pittsburgh, biology, 4.5228
- No. 7 Connor Brady:Â University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School of Business), finance, 4.4440
- No. 8 Ashley Conrad:Â St. Joseph's University, food marketing, 4.4263
- No. 9 Lauren Loggi:Â The College of New Jersey, biomedical engineering, 4.4044
- No. 10 Christine Mullan:Â Clemson University, chemical engineering, 4.4038
Taylor also recognized the top female and male scholars in each grade from seventh to 11th:

- Grade 11:Â Maham Ahmad (5.0499) and John Kane (4.8501)
