Ocean City School District To Host Community Forum Tuesday

The open public forum will be held at the Ocean City Free Public Library Lecture Hall at 1735 Simpson Ave. from 6 to 7 p.m.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The district will be holding another community forum on Tuesday, Nov. 9 to discuss the school’s curriculum and current mandates.

The open public forum will be held at the Ocean City Free Public Library Lecture Hall at 1735 Simpson Ave. from 6 to 7 p.m.

“These are challenging times, as we deal with an ongoing pandemic, legislative updates and the latest Executive Orders that impact our schools,” school officials said in a news release. “Questions surrounding topics such as Critical Race Theory, Gender Identity, and issues relating to social and sexual health have been making the news and will be presented for discussion.”

The forum will also include a discussion of current initiatives surrounding school operations and student behavior including vaping, general student conduct and attendance/tardiness.

Since the forum is being held off school property, masks will be optional.

“We look forward to your attendance as we seek to address important issues facing our schools,” officials said.
