Ocean City Seeks Nominations For MLK Community Service Award

The awards are given to citizens who exemplify the philosophy and ideas of Martin Luther King Jr.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The City is seeking nominations for the 2022 MLK Community Service Award. Honorees are awarded for exemplifying the philosophy and ideas of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The award particularly emphasizes volunteer activity and service to the people and Ocean City community by a person outside of a work setting for a minimum of two years.

A committee appointed by the Department of Community Services will select the award recipient and finalists from the nominations.

The nominee and nominator will be notified by Dec. 30, 2021 and honored on Jan. 17, 2022 during the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ceremony at the Bill and Nancy Hughes Performing Arts Center at Ocean City High School. The ceremony starts at 12 p.m.

Nominations must be submitted here no later than Dec. 23.
