OCEAN CITY, NJ — The United States is experiencing a disruption in the supply chain and that likely will affect your online holiday shopping plans. But why worry about the supply chain disruption when you can shop locally at your convenience?

Even if you're visiting family in Ocean City for the Thanksgiving holiday, you can do some local retail therapy. Show your support for local businesses and get a head start on your holiday list.

Mia's Christmas Gallery: Holiday gifts abound in Mia's Christmas Gallery at 755 Asbury Ave. Ornaments, calendars, dishware and more are among the gift shop’s merchandise. Many items are also listed in the store’s online catalog.

Hoy's 5&10 (732 Asbury Ave): Stock up on beachwear, household items and souvenirs at Hoy’s 5&10. For the holidays, Hoy's also has you covered with wrapping paper, holiday decorations, bags, bows and holiday cards for sale.

The Spotted Whale (944 Asbury Ave): A home goods store carrying a unique line of home, gift and garden items. Seasonal artwork and pillows are among the store’s merchandise this holiday season. Many items are featured on the store’s website.

Sun Seekers (751 Asbury Ave, Ocean City): Find fashion at the shore year-round at Sun Seekers. From swimsuits to cocktail dresses to jewelry and accessories, the store offers a variety of items.

Heritage Surf and Sport (740 West Ave): Stock up on gear at Heritage Surf and Sport, a premiere surf, skate and apparel retail destination. A catalog of apparel and merchandise can also be viewed online.

Handlaget (744 Central Ave), is a funky Norwegian furniture and home goods shop all in one, according to its Facebook page. The store reuses, repurposes and restores vintage and antique items, and offers custom furniture painting, woodworking, sign lettering and more. The store also carries products and instructions for people to do their own projects.

Sun Rose Words & Music (756 Asbury Ave): Browse books in a quaint, old-fashioned shop specializing in new books, office supplies and greeting cards. The store also carries an assortment of sheet music books and starter learning instrument instructional books.

Beach Bike Warehouse (745 Asbury Ave): If you’re shopping around for a bicycle, stop by Beach Bike Warehouse, a full service bicycle shop offering new and used bicycles. The shop specializes in refurbishing and refreshing classic and vintage bikes, while offering a full line of new bikes.

Ocean City Coffee Company: The popular coffee shop in Ocean City has three locations — two of which are open year-round, including its downtown location at 917 Asbury Ave. The coffee shop serves over 110 different types of fresh roasted gourmet coffees and over 18 varieties of specialty teas. Gift baskets, gift cards and other merchandise are available for purchase.

Jilly's On Asbury: Find Ocean City gifts, customized clothing, lifeguard gear, holiday ornaments, toys and more at Jilly’s On Asbury, which is open year round at 1014 Asbury Ave.
