Ocean City Student Wins National Shuffleboard Title
Alec Helm repeats as winner of the Junior National Singles Shuffleboard Championship.

Ocean City High School junior Alec Helm won the Junior National Singles Shuffleboard Championship for the second consecutive year.
The 16-year-old Ocean City resident captured the crown during the annual competition in Lakeside, Ohio, in July.
Helm turned 16 two days after the tournament and will be ineligible to compete in the division next year. He is considering moving up to the men’s singles competition in 2014.

Helm works out frequently with members of the Ocean City Shuffle Board Club at the Carey Stadium courts.
“I’ve gained a lot of experience thanks to their help. I’m the youngest person on the courts by at least 40 years, and it’s great that they take the time to help me improve.”
