Ocean City's Annual Bike Auction Set for Monday Morning

Anybody can bid on abandoned bicycles and other surplus items 10 a.m. to noon July 22.

The City of Ocean City will hold its annual Bicycle Auction 10 a.m. to noon Monday, July 22. The event returns this year to the Shelter Road Recycling Center at 1 Shelter Road (off Tennessee Avenue, which intersects Bay Avenue near 23rd Street). 

The auction allows anybody to bid on bicycles that have been deemed by the Ocean City Police Department to be abandoned or unclaimed. It offers an opportunity to buy bikes at low cost.

Registration for this year's event begins at 9 a.m. A driver's license, passport or Valid ID is required to register.

About 150 bicycles and other surplus items will be for sale at the auction. All items are sold "as is/where is" with no warranties implied or offered. Accepted forms of payment are bank checks with ID, traveler’s checks and cash. No credit cards will be accepted.
