One Day Left for Discounted Beach Tags

The price of a seasonal tag goes up by $5 on Saturday, June 1.

Time is running short for anybody interested in taking advantage of a pre-season discount on seasonal tags for Ocean City beaches.

Seasonal badges (good for the whole summer) will be on sale at a preseason price of $20 through Friday, May 31. Starting on Saturday, June 1, beach tags will be sold for $25.

Anyone interested in buying beach tags can visit www.ocnj.us/beachtags (until midnight May 31). Mail orders are now closed.

Online orders include a $5 shipping cost. Beachgoers can save that fee by purchasing tags at the following locations on Thursday or Friday: 

  • City Hall, 861 Asbury Avenue (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), and the Henry S. Knight Building, 115 12th Street. (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
  • Ocean City Music Pier, Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk. (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
  • Roy Gillian Welcome Center, 16 E. Ninth St. (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
  • Ocean City Aquatic and Fitness Center, 1735 Simpson Avenue. (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.)
  • 46th Street Municipal Building, (Next to Post Office on West Avenue) (10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) 

Beach tags are required for children ages 12 and older and will be required June 8 to Sept. 2 this year.

Weekly beach tags are $10, and daily beach tags cost $5.

The Ocean City Beach Patrol protects beaches from Memorial Day through September. Lifeguards will be on duty 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at a limited number of beaches throughout the island to start the season. By the third week of June, Ocean City's beaches will be fully patrolled.

The following beaches will be patrolled June 1 to 7:

  • Stenton Place
  • St. Charles Place
  • Brighton Place
  • 5th Street
  • 8th Street
  • 9th Street
  • 10th Street
  • 11th Street
  • 12th Street
  • 14th Street
  • 26th Street
  • 34th Street
  • 44th Street 
  • 58th Street
