Open House on Saturday for All Who Want to Learn to Sail

The Ocean City Sailing Foundation also announces a new sailing director for 2013.

The Ocean City Sailing Foundation welcomed its new sailing director, Pat Leonardo, as lessons started this week for the 2013 summer season.

Leonardo's sailing resume includes being a sailing consultant at Notre Dame University and the St. Augustine Prep sailing team's founder and coach for many years. He is currently a guidance counselor at Christian Brothers Academy.

The OCSF has provided safe and affordable sailing lessons to both juniors and adults at the Bayside Center, 520 Bay Ave., for six summers.

Students must be 8 years old and know how to swim. Both group and private lessons are available to all residents and visitors of Ocean City and the surrounding communities from Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings.

This Saturday, 6/22/13, the OCSF is holding an Open House at the Bayside Center from 9:00am to 1:00pm.  OCSF staff members will review the types of boats available for lessons, answer any questions, and Free 15 minutes sailboat rides will be provided to all attendees.
