Oprah Gives Car to Ocean City Woman

Chrissy DeGennaro wasn't there for Oprah's iconic "You get a car! You get a car! Everyone gets a car!" moment. But she's still getting a car from The O.

DeGennaro was in the audience for the last "Oprah's Favorite Things" show before the talk show maven ended her program earlier this year, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

On Thursday, DeGennaro, who lives in Ocean City, will pick up her new car—a 2012 Volkswagen Beetle—at Atlantic Volkswagen in Egg Harbor Township. 

DeGennaro's chance to attend a taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show came after she nominated a friend, Josie Chivalette, to see the show. Chivalette, in the midst of a breast cancer fight, had lost her husband, daughter and sister to cancer in the span of a year, and DeGennaro was impressed with her friend's sheer survival skills.

During the taping, according to the Press, both women were surprised with the new car package.
