Philly Man Hid Cameras In Ocean City Boardwalk Bathrooms, Police Say

Harold Perkins was charged with six counts of invasion of privacy and six counts of endangering the welfare of children.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — A Philadelphia man is accused of placing hidden cameras that were discovered in bathrooms on the Ocean City Boardwalk on June 12, Ocean City police said.

Harold Perkins, 38, is charged with six counts of invasion of privacy and six counts of endangering the welfare of children (manufacturing child pornography).

It was around 12:30 p.m. on June 12 when a woman told officers she had found a hidden recording device in a bathroom at 6th Street and the Boardwalk, police said.

Police then searched all of the public bathrooms on the Boardwalk and found several additional cameras in the public bathrooms at both 10th Street and 11th Street, officials said.

Authorities identified the suspect as Perkins and on June 20 at about 6:20 a.m., detectives from the Ocean City Police Department, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit of the Philadelphia Police Department, agents with the Department of Homeland Security (HSI-Atlantic City) and a K-9 Unit with the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General executed court-authorized arrest and search warrants at a residence and vehicle in the 4200 block of Glenview Street in Philadelphia.

Perkins was taken into custody at the residence and remains in Pennsylvania awaiting extradition proceedings, police said.
