Registration Open for Oct. 6 HERO Walk

Help raise money in a campaign to prevent drunk driving tragedies.

The HERO Campaign, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the use of safe and sober designated drivers to prevent drunk driving tragedies, will sponsor its annual walk at the Ocean City Boardwalk on Sunday, Oct. 6.

In 2012, the Ocean City Boardwalk rumbled with the footsteps of more than 2,000, representing area schools, colleges, businesses, government agencies, law enforcement and bars and taverns in support of the HERO Walk. Teams interested in participating can register at www.theherowalk.org.

The event is a non-competitive walk that starts on the Boardwalk at Sixth Street and includes a turnaround point at 20th Street. The HERO Walk includes food, entertainment, trophies and prizes for top fundraising teams and individuals.
