Saltwater Fly Fishing Presentation on Thursday in Ocean City

Chuck Furmisky will speak 7:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Bayside Center in Ocean City.

The South Jersey Coastal Fly Anglers will host a presentation by Ocean City resident Chuck Furimsky at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 15) at the Bayside Center.

Furimsky will speak on “Fly Fishing in Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico” and will describe techniques and tactics for catching bonefish, permit and tarpon on the Yucatan flats.

The Bayside Center is at 520 Bay Avenue in Ocean City. Guests and visitors are welcome, and there is no admission charge.

Furimsky is director and CEO of the ‘The Fly Fishing Show,’ which is held annually in seven major US cities — the show in Somerset, N.J., in January is the largest all-fly fishing show in the world.

In this role, Furimsky meets and fishes with fly fishing experts from around the world.  He is also a former winner of the Lee Wulff Fly Fishing Award. He learned to fish in Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University.
