South Jersey Pizzeria To Reopen In Ocean City

Expect old favorites and "insane upgrades" when Bakeria 1010, once based in Linwood, opens its new Ocean City location.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — What was once one of South Jersey's most popular pizzerias is returning this summer with a new home in Ocean City.

Bakeria 1010 was located in the now-shuttered Exchange in Linwood and closed just over a year ago when the Exchange food hall closed its doors.

But now, owner Michael Fitzick is reviving the pizzeria "from the pile of ashes left in Linwood."

Fitzick said the restaurant will focus on its delicious pizzas while also delving back into sourdough breads.

When Bakeria 1010 first opened, it was named as one of NJ's best pizzerias by outlets including NJ Advance Media, Thrillist and more.

The pizzeria is known for its "unique" square pizza made with sourdough crust, which is made with a starter from Naples, Italy.

Fitzick said that Bakeria 1010 is hoping for an early May opening. You can keep up with the latest information on the eatery's Facebook page.
