'Thunder Over The Waves' Airshow Brings Aerobatic Tricks To Jersey Shore

THE WILDWOODS, NJ — The "Thunder Over the Waves" Airshow flies into the Wildwoods on Sept. 5 and 6, kicking off a schedule of fall events.

The Airshow, produced by David Schultz Airshows and presented by the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA), features aircraft and aerobatic performances ranging from custom built planes to military aircraft to highly skilled aerialists to parachuters. The Airshow is comprised of nearly a dozen headliners.

It celebrates the start of "The Wildwoods Second Season," also popularly known as "local summer," where fun and events continue as tourist crowds dwindle.

“The Airshow is going to be an unforgettable event,” said Louis M. Belasco, GWTIDA Executive Director, “We’re ready to give spectators a truly memorable experience in the sky and invite them to enjoy everything our resort has to offer this fall.”

The Wildwoods fall schedule of events i includes Boots on the Beach Country Music Festival and the “Monsters on the Beach” Monster Truck Races in September, The Race of Gentlemen in October, and countless holiday events, craft shows, parades, festivals, sporting events, and more during the fall and winter months.

After the Airshow, visitors are welcome to join the unofficial afterparty, The Wildwoods Food and Music Festival, at Byrne Plaza in Downtown Wildwood from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Food and Music Festival will feature food vendors serving up food, sweets, classic boardwalk eats and more, in addition to craft vendors, a beer garden, and live bands following the performances at the Airshow.
