Tornado Warning Issued In Northwestern Cape May County: NWS

The warning was issued at 11:33 a.m. and will last until noon, the National Weather Service said.

CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for parts of northwestern Cape May County Tuesday afternoon.

The warning was issued at 11:33 a.m. and will last until noon, the NWS said.

At 11:32 a.m., "a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Goshen, or 14 miles north of Cape May, moving northeast at 15 mph," the NWS said.

Impacted areas are Woodbine, Sea Isle City, Dennisville, Goshen and Seaville.

"Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely," the NWS said.

Anyone in this area is urged to take cover immediately.

"Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris," the NWS said.
