Underworld Comes To Ocean City With 'Hadestown'
Enjoy a teen production of the Tony Award-winning musical "Hadestown" this month in Ocean City.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The underworld comes to life in Ocean City this month, and it's not just Halloween. The students of the Ocean City Theatre Company are bringing their production of "Hadestown: Teen Edition" to Ocean City Music Pier on Oct. 18 and 19.
Set in a post-apocalyptic New Orleans–style world, Hadestown intertwines the ancient Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone, exploring love, hope, and the cost of following your dreams. This special teen adaptation captures the heart and soul of the original while giving young performers a powerful opportunity to tell a timeless story in their own voices.
Under the direction of Hannah Breed and Francesca Merlino with musical direction by Brinley Edwards, this production showcases an ensemble of talented student performers in 7th-12th grades. From the electrifying score to the moving storytelling, audiences can expect a journey “way down under the ground” like no other.
