Bergen Professors Present International Suburbs Discussion

Bergen Community  College will present a free panel discussion on “International Suburbs: The Middle Landscape on Three Continents,” on Thursday, April 4 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Room A-104, Pitkin Education Center, on the College’s main campus in Paramus.

A panel of Bergen professors will discuss suburbs in countries – Peru, France and Egypt - located on three continents.

Panelists will focus on the uniqueness of development; how each reflects the native culture and how to respond to international trends of development.

Audience members will become involved in the discussion through the use of clicker questions.

Panelists are:

Camelia-Manuela Lataianu (Moderator) – Professor of Sociology, Bergen Community College

Keith Chu – Professor of History and Geography, Bergen Community College

Ash Melika – Professor of Anthropology and Sociology, Bergen Community College

Sarah Shurts – Professor of History, Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands
