Bronx Man Busted for Bogus Credit Card Shopping Spree, Cops Say
Paramus Police recovered $1,580 in goods they say were illegally purchased from Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom's in the Garden State Plaza

charged a Bronx man with using a fraudulent credit card to purchase more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from Garden State Plaza department stores this past weekend.
Johnny Colon, 36, of the Bronx, was charged with possession of a fraudulent credit card, use of fraudulent credit card and stolen property, according to a statement from Paramus Police.
Police say security alerted Officer Keith Bland, who was on mall patrol, to a person making purchases with a fraudulent credit card at the mall Saturday evening.

The suspect was then spotted leaving by mall security officers.
Brand stopped the suspect while he was entering a vehicle in the mall parking lot. Police said their investigation then led to the discovery of the $1,580 worth of merchandise from both Nordstrom's and Lord & Taylors. Colon was arrested and transported to Paramus Police headquarters, confirmed Lt. John Scully. Colon later was released after posting bail which had been set at $15,000, police said.

Police allege the purchases were made with a fraudulent credit card. The stolen merchandise included assorted clothing and cologne, confirmed the lieutenant.
