$45K in Diamonds and Watches Stolen from Paramus Jewelry Stores

Paramus Police allege a New York man stole a $15,000 2-karat diamond, a $30,000 Rolex watch and other wrist watches from two retailers last month.

Paramus Police have charged a New York man with the theft of a $15,000 2-karat diamond from the Route 17 Diamond Exchange and a $30,000 Rolex Yachtmaster 2 wrist watch from the Route 4 Jewelry Exchange.

Police charged Daniel J. Cimolonski, 32, of Deer Park, NY this week with two counts of third degree theft for the two incidents, both of which took place last month.

Cimolonski was arrested April 4 in Deer Park on drug charges and was noted as a suspect in similar jewelry thefts, police said Friday.

The Paramus Police detectives worked with the Jewelry Security Alliance and were able to identify Cimolonski based on finger prints, video surveillance and witness accounts, Detective Lt. Robert Guidetti said in a statement.

Cimolonski is being held in Central Islip, NY on active warrants and drug possession charges.

The Diamond Exchange theft took place March 22 and the Jewelry Exchange incident occurred on March 23, police said.
