Drunk Driver Sentenced to 364 Days After Severely Injuring Paramus Man

A good samaritan stopped to help someone who had been in an accident, but he was severely injured for his efforts. The drunk driver who hit him was sentenced last Friday.

Gregory Komprolis, 31, of River Edge, was arrested last December when he crashed his 2010 Volkswagen Jetta into two cars, severely injuring a Paramus resident, while under the influence of alcohol.

Last December, Rebecca Wright, 21, of Paramus, was driving a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta under the influence of alcohol when she crashed into a utility pole, Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said in a release, and Farbod Fallah, 21, of Paramus, pulled over and called 911 when he noticed the her accident on Forest Avenue in Paramus.

As Fallah stood between his car and Wright's car, Komprolis struck Fallah and the two cars, according to the statement. Fallah suffered serious injuries to his lower extremities and head and was in critical condition at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Komporlis was sentenced to 364 days in Bergen County Jail and three years probation last week, according to a cliffviewpilot.com report.
