Free Fireworks And July 4 'Spectacular' Announced For Bergen County Park

RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ — Bergen County’s second annual Star-Spangled Spectacular will return this July 4 at Overpeck County Park in Ridgefield Park, county officials announced last week.

All are invited to attend the patriotic afternoon of family fun with two dozen food trucks, a beer and wine garden, and fireworks over Overpeck Creek.

The evening will also feature the return of the New Jersey Wind Symphony with a performance of Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," complete with live artillery from Howitzer cannons.

Festivities are set to begin at 2:30 p.m. in the Ridgefield Park section of Overpeck County Park.

“Last year’s Star-Spangled Spectacular marked a new tradition for Bergen County, and we’re proud to build on that momentum in 2025,” said County Executive Jim Tedesco. “With the return of fireworks and a world-class performance by the New Jersey Wind Symphony, we invite families from across the County to come together at Overpeck Park as we celebrate our country’s independence and look ahead to America’s 250th birthday in 2026.”

“We’re honored to once again be part of Bergen County’s official Fourth of July celebration,” said Chris Wilhjelm, Music Director of the New Jersey Wind Symphony. “It’s a joy to share this day of patriotic pride through music, and we look forward to uplifting the spirit of our community with another memorable performance.”

Music and festivities will start at 2:30 p.m. on July 4th. The New Jersey Wind Symphony will perform at 8 p.m.

A rain date for Bergen County’s Star-Spangled Spectacular is scheduled for July 5.

Bergen County’s Star-Spangled Spectacular is an official event of Bergen250, an initiative spearheaded by the Division of Cultural & Historic Affairs within the Bergen County Department of Parks, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution through local people, places, and culture. The initiative was codified by the County Board of Commissioners by resolution on Jan. 17, 2024.
