Paramus Barnes & Noble Gets A Happily Ever After With New Location
It is not the end of the story for this Barnes & Noble as people thought.

PARAMUS, NJ — It's not "The End" for Paramus's Barnes & Noble after all.
The beloved bookseller in Paramus, though closing its current location after 28 years, has announced — to the elation of many — a new location in the borough.
Barnes & Noble at 765 Route 17 broke the news of the closure in January, later pushing back the previously stated closing date to March 18, and the initial announcement was greeted with much dismay online.

But the store is not going down so easily, as it aims to move house into the Big Lots space at 634 North State Route 17, the booksellers announced on Facebook Tuesday. In a statement released Thursday, the company said an opening date was expected in fall 2023.
"While we are sad to leave this location, we are excited for our next chapter. Please follow us and we will see you at the new store's opening!"

Exclamation points and emotive icons filled the comments section.
"Amazing news!" "That's terrific!" "Wow! So excited!"
Others said they'd miss the current B&N location, and just hoped for similar aesthetics and the return of the store's used-books section at the new space.
In Thursday's statement, the company said the store will hopefully maintain the used-books section, and will feature an updated design and new café.
The existing store is closing to provide space for a day care program for adults with developmental disabilities.
“We couldn’t be happier to announce our relocation," said B&N vice president of stores Amy Fitzgerald said. “Our Paramus booksellers are eager to show just how beautiful they can make their brand-new bookstore.”
Barnes & Noble has opened more new bookstores in 2022 than it had done in the decade since 2009, the statement continued. The bookseller expects to open over 30 new bookstores in 2023.
