Paramus Hospital Residency Program Celebrates 50 Years
Bergen New Bridge Medical Center celebrates the 50th anniversary of its psychiatry residency program.

PARAMUS, NJ — Reflecting upon 50 years of training, the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center celebrated the 50th anniversary of its psychiatry residency program at its graduation ceremony on June 24, a news release said.
“We are proud to be an educational leader, providing a solid and diverse foundation for the future of psychiatry,” Deborah Visconi, President and CEO of the 1,070-bed Paramus hospital, said. “Our program is one of the largest and most well respected in the area."
Providing residents with clinical experience in adult, geriatric, addiction and child/adolescent psychiatry, the competitive 32-slot program, led by Monica Dhingra, attracts interns across the country, the news release said.

“There has never been more of a demand for mental health professionals, and we are dedicated to fulfilling those needs," Visconi added.
Under the instructional supervision of relevant staff, the residents gain expertise in caring for and treating younger and older patients, the news release said.
