Paramus Park Seeks Approval For Movie Theater This Week

The Paramus Zoning Board of Adjustment will hear Paramus Park Mall's proposal to build a movie theater and restaurant during the Thursday night meeting.
The mall seeks approval for a 12-screen, 2,234-seat movie theater as part of an addition to the mall that was granted approval previously, according to a NorthJersey.com report.

The mall seeks a use variance along with parking variances and waivers to ammend the addition which was approved back in 2008.

Also the board will continue to hear final site plan approvals from The Shelter Group which is constructing a senior living facility on Forest Avenue.
This week the mayor and council meet Tuesday night for the monthly work session meeting where more discussion regarding overnight parkingis expected to continue.
As reported previously, officials have suggested the idea of issuing overnight parking permits to those who can prove an extreme need for on-street parking due to no available driveway or garage space. There has been much opposition to the idea as a large majority favors keeping the integrity of their neighborhoods intact by not allowing cars to park on the street overnight.
Mayor Richard LaBarbiera has said those who would be okayed a permit make up a very small percentage of the community, of about 5 or 10 percent.
And coming up this weekend, the Paramus Scholarship Show will hosts the 54th annual scholarship show at the Paramus High School auditorium on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m.
