Paramus Police, School Stop Student From Selling Pocketknives
The West Brook Middle School student was caught selling the knives, which he brought online, police said.

PARAMUS, NJ — Police and school officials worked together to stop a student from selling pocketknives at West Brook Middle School.
The school had the highest number of incidents involving a "weapon" during the 2016-17 school year, statistics released by the state earlier this year show.
All eight of the reported cases involved small pocket knives, said Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg.

Of the eight, a student purchased six of them on the internet and sold them at the school, Ehrenberg said.
The school learned what was going on "right away," and worked with police to investigate and stop the student from selling more.

The two other cases also involved pocket knives, but police could not prove they came from the student, Ehrenberg said.
Ehrenberg said the student who sold the knives cooperated with authorities and "did not do anything nefarious."
