Paramus Students Honor 9/11 in Times Square Wednesday
Operation Goody Bag is sending students and volunteers into Manhattan on Wednesday to present 1,000 goody bags to the FDNY to honor first responders of 9/11, and to commemorate 250,000 goody bags sent to American soldiers

This week, approximately 63 students from and the two middle schools will be on Wednesday morning to honor the memory and sacrifices made by the 9/11 first responders by 1,000 goody bags to the FDNYas well as commemorating the 250,000 goody bags sent to American soldiers around the globe.
The trip, organized by Operation Goody Bag founder Jane Cosco, a former teacher, will have students joined by active duty and retired military personnel, members of the FDNY, Sponge Bob and Dora the Explorer on the coveted red steps in Times Square from 10am to 1pm.
Operation Goody Bag recently partnered with the Soldiers’, Sailors’, Marines’, Coast Guard and Airmen’s Club, which is the only private organization in the New York area that provides accommodations at subsidized rates to servicemen and servicewomen, military retirees, veterans and their families, to be able to secure the event in Times Square.

Operation Goody Bag is a student-centered, service-learning project dedicated to remembering September 11th. Their mission is to perform tributes remembering those who perished and express appreciation to our Military Men and Women, Veterans, and First Responders, through the gift of a Goody Bag. A Goody Bag is a brown lunch bag, colored in a patriotic theme, filled with lollipops, candy, a personal letter of thanks, and poetry. OGB creates an awareness of the value of service and a bond of friendship and respect between children, communities, and men and women in uniforms,
In May, the United States Navy l of East Brook Middle School to pick up the goody bags and deliver them.
