• Shoplifting Duo Run From Cops Carrying $4K In Items From Bergen County Mall: Police (patch.com) — Paramus police arrested two out-of-state suspects after they allegedly stole nearly $4,800 in Burberry coats from Neiman Marcus at Westfield Garden State Plaza and tried to flee the mall. Officers and mall security tracked the pair from a Loft stockroom to the parking lot, where a brief foot chase ended with both facing shoplifting-related charges.
   

• Emergency services in Bergen County continue to change amid shortages (northjersey.com) — Paramus has merged its volunteer rescue squad into the fire department as part of a broader Bergen County push to cope with shrinking volunteer ranks and rising emergency calls. County officials are expanding a regional EMS system and exploring more fire-rescue consolidations, which could change how ambulances and firefighters are dispatched to Paramus and neighboring communities in the coming years.
