These are the Bergen County development projects to watch in 2026 (northjersey.com) — Major changes are coming around Paramus malls in 2026, including Vermella Paramus apartments next to Paramus Park and a large mixed-use project at Westfield Garden State Plaza that will add hundreds of homes and a town green. Another big complex is planned at Bergen Town Center, while a new Costco on Route 17 South is approved but awaiting a construction start date.
   

2. Man accused of school bus incident admits to more rock-throwing (northjersey.com) — A third-grade student from Yeshivat Noam in Paramus remains in stable condition after suffering a skull fracture when a rock smashed through her school bus window on Jan. 7. Authorities say the suspect, a Palisades Park man, allegedly admitted to that attack plus multiple rock-throwing and trespassing incidents in Bogota, and he is now held in Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing.
   

3. Older brother of PGA Tour's Brandt Snedeker charts his own path in golf (usatoday.com) — Paramus gets a brief spotlight as the site of The Ridgewood Country Club, where amateur golfer Haymes Snedeker once teed it up in the 2022 U.S. Amateur. The story follows his late-blooming competitive career, from qualifying for elite events to creating his own mid-amateur tournament, and how he’s reshaped his relationship with golf heading into the senior ranks.
   

4. Ulster County man and brother indicted for allegedly stealing $90K in emergency rental program (midhudsonnews.com) — A man identified as being from Paramus has been indicted alongside his brother from Woodstock, New York, in an alleged $90,000 Emergency Rental Assistance fraud case. State officials say the pair submitted a falsified application to obtain pandemic rent relief funds, and both now face charges including grand larceny, money laundering, and filing a false instrument.
