Serial Flasher Exposed Himself At Paramus Doc's Office: Police

Several women saw Brian Bates masturbate in a bathroom while trying to shove a toilet bowl scrubber up his anus, police said.

PARAMUS, NJ — A man was arrested for exposing himself at a doctor's office on Ridgewood Avenue Friday night, police said.

Police found Brian Bates, 47, in a bathroom with the door open masturbating and simultaneously trying to shove the handle of a toilet bowl scrubber up his anus, Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.

Police responded to the office at about 7 p.m. on a report that a man was exposing himself to other patients in the office, said Ehrenberg.

Police arrested Bates and charged him with open lewdness. He was taken to New Bridge Medical Center for evaluation, the chief said.

Bates was previously charged with lewdness in 1998 after he touched his exposed penis to 8-, 9-, and 11-year-old kids at Barnes & Noble, Ehrenberg said.
