Study Ranks Paramus No. 3 for Best Places to Find a Job in NJ

Turns in the economy over the last decade have made things difficult for a lot of folks in New Jersey and across the county.

Finding a job isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do these days. Whether you’re speaking about veterans, recent college graduates or people taking jobs they are overqualified for, jobs just aren’t easy to find.

A recent report done by nerdwallet.com has Paramus ranked as the third best place in New Jersey to find a job.

The report studied the following factors: 

• Is the city growing? Growth in the working age population was assessed.
• Can you afford to live in the city comfortably? A look at the median household income, to see if workers made a good living was done. Monthly homeowner costs, including mortgage payments, were analyzed to see if the city had a reasonable cost of living.
• Are most people employed? They took a look at the unemployment rate.

Paramus is located in Bergen County, in northeastern New Jersey. It is known as a top shopping destination, with three major malls, including the Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall. Households in Paramus earned a median income of $104,105 while its unemployment rate was low, at 6.9 percent. Rosica is a PR and marketing firm headquartered in Paramus, and Bergen Regional Medical Center is a top employer in the region. Bergen Community College provides career resources and experiential learning opportunities at the Center for Student Success.
