10,000 Residents Express Parsippany Patriotism At July 4th Celebration

Residents came by the thousands to enjoy the fireworks and live music.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Residents came out by the thousands this weekend to partake in Parsippany’s Fourth of July Celebration.

According to the township, more than 10,000 residents and visitors engaged in some Parsippany Patriotism this past Friday.

“Independence Day is a time to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy and to honor the brave men and women who fought, and continue to fight, for this great country,” Mayor James Barberio said during the celebration “Tonight we come together, not just to celebrate, but to remember the sacrifices that make celebrations like this possible.”

Folks arrived at Parsippany Hills High School around 5 p.m. to kick off the celebration.

While waiting for the anticipated fireworks show, attendees enjoyed a performance from Overboard, an NJ rock band that covers the likes of The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Steely Dan, and much more.

“Today, we honor the spirit of resilience, courage, and unity that forged our nation,” Barberio said in a social media post. “Let’s take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedom and the values that bind us together.”
