14K Lose Power Amid Severe Thunderstorm Warning In Morris County
Forecasters issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Morris County on Friday afternoon.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Power outages are impacting residents across Morris County on Friday afternoon.
According to the area's electric provider, Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), power outages are currently affecting various towns, including Morristown, Chatham, East Hanover, Florham Park and Parsippany.
All around Morris County, there are 14,121 residents without power, according to the JCP&L outage map.

In Chatham, there are currently seven outages around town, JCP&L said. The cause of the outages is currently unknown and is pending investigation. The estimated restoration time for the Chatham area has been set at 6:30 p.m.
The largest outage seems to be in Florham Park, according to the JCP&L outage map. Currently, there are more than 1,500 homes in Florham Park without power.

Morristown has one power outage affecting 20 customers, according to the JCP&L outage map, and is also awaiting the dispatch of JCP&L crews.
The outages could be a result of the current storm rolling through Morris County. A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Morris County on Friday afternoon by the National Weather Service.
The warning, which is in effect until 4:30 p.m., includes East Hanover, Lincoln Park, Kinnelon, Boonton, Butler, Riverdale, Parsippany, Pequannock Township and Hanover Township.
Winds up to 60 mph and hail are possible during the thunderstorms, the National Weather Service said.
