2-Day Durga Puja Celebration Coming To Parsippany: See Schedule
Guests can expect food, music, activities, and more during the two-day "cultural extravaganza."
PARSIPPANY, NJ — What’s being called a “cultural extravaganza” is coming to Parsippany— a two-day celebration of Durga Puja.
Hosted by the Indian Community Center of Garden State (ICCGS) for its 33rd year, the event will take place this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Parsippany High School.
The Bengali Hindi festival, which is actually celebrated for five days, honors the victory of the goddess Durga over the shape-shifting demon Mahishasura. The epic story symbolizes the victory of good over evil, strength over weakness, and the “divine feminine power.”
