2018 dropped 64.78 inches of precipitation onto NJ, the highest ever recorded since the inception of this tracking in 1895. The Rutgers Office of the NJ State Climatologist provides records of rainfall. More specifically, Morris County saw 67.91 inches in 2018, which was the second highest amount on record, falling only slightly below 2011's 70.17 inches of precipitation.

The 30 year normal amount in NJ is 46.36 inches.

So far, in 2019 on a month-by-month basis, we doubled the amount of precipitation from last year in January, received half as much rain as last year in February and saw about an inch less than the prior year in March.
