Man Killed In Early Morning Route 80 Crash In Parsippany
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — One person was killed in an early morning crash on Route 80 in Parsippany Thursday, police say.
Eric Velez, 46, from Suffern, New York, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:16 a.m. crash, State Police Lt. Theodore Schafer told Patch. He drove his Nissan into the back of a parked construction truck, Schafer said.
The crash closed several westbound lanes of traffic during the rush hour commute, creating significant traffic jams.

All lanes were reopened after 8 a.m. The Parsippany fire department and first aid squad responded.
