6 Blood Drives Coming Up In Morris County
All types of blood are needed, but O-negative is particularly needed.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Six public blood drives are coming up in Morris County, and New Jersey Blood Services is asking you to roll up your sleeve and donate.
All types of blood are needed, and several types are running low, but O-negative blood is particularly needed. The holiday season is historically a difficult time for blood banks.
“It’s simple: hospital patient demand for blood often outpaces our best efforts to recruit donors and schedule blood drives,” said NYBC Executive Director of Donor Recruitment Andrea Cefarelli. “There are always reasons but we have to overcome that for the sake of hospital patients who need us.”

Donated blood only lasts between five and 42 days, so frequent donations are necessary to help maintain supplies.
