6 Parsippany Police Recruits Graduate From Morris Co. Training Academy
These officers were among 45 to graduate from the 102nd Basic Police Class, after being sworn in last December.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — After completing a 20-week training course, six Parsippany natives are ready to officially join the ranks of the township police department.
Thomas Lally, Shalin Patel, Ryan McConnell, Robert Hockey, Jr., Richard Nicoletti and Nicholas Santangelo were sworn in as police recruits back in December. These six patrolmen were among 45 graduates of the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy on May 30.
Mayor James Barberio attended the ceremony at Birchwood Manor, and congratulated "an outstanding group of homegrown young men" on finishing the program.

The township hired 11 officers in total last year, and the 2024 town budget includes funding for three more.
The Parsippany Police Department has a chain of command that includes a Chief of Police, Deputy Chief of Police, Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants, Detectives, Patrol Officers, Class II and III (part-time) Special Law Enforcement Officers (SLEOs), Public Safety Telecommunicators (dispatchers), and civilian personnel.
