“Bats are so misunderstood and under-appreciated. This event will
celebrate bats and educate residents about local environmental initiatives,”
states Anita Shotwell, Parsippany Bat Protection Project. “New Jersey is home
to 6 year round and 3 part-time species of bats, including the endangered
Indiana bat. We have a bat-tastic event planned for adults and children of all
ages.”

Among the many activities planned are educational seminars, live
storytelling, arts and crafts, photo bat booth, and so much more.

actually a modified hand. Big brown bats, common in New Jersey can eat 3,000
mosquitos a day. Bats are necessary pollinators and seed dispersers. Tequila is
produced from agave plants that in the wild rely on bats as their primary
pollinators. Bats have a belly button and have live births.
