The summer concert series was a debated topic during the course of the township's budget hearings earlier this spring.
Over the course of the two-day-long process, various township department heads said that they saw no way to cut out portions of the proposed $88.4 million budget.
After the nearly three-hour-long meeting on May 9, Councilman Justin Musella stated that he disagreed with that statement and listed off certain items that he believed could be cut in order to lessen the burden on taxpayers.
One of those suggestions was eliminating $320,731 from the budget, which would have included the summer concert series from the township budget. Four of the township council members opposed the proposal, claiming that the township's residents would not benefit from any cuts.
The $88.4 million municipal budget was approved 4-1, with Musella casting the lone dissenting vote.
