Barberio has a tight lead against Democratic opponent Desai, whose running mates have a lead for two council seats: unofficial results.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — After Parsippany's Democratic Mayor nominee showed a somewhat strong lead, incumbent Republican James Barberio has narrowly pulled ahead in Parsippany's Mayoral Race. Desai's running mates, both seeking council seats, maintained a lead as of Tuesday night.

Two people are vying to become the Mayor of Parsippany.
Incumbent Republican Mayor James Barberio is seeking another four-year term, having served as Parsippany’s mayor from 2010 to 2018. After losing his third re-election attempt in 2017 to Democrat Michael Soriano, Barberio returned in 2021 to beat Soriano and has served as the town’s mayor since.

Democrat Challenger, Pulkit Desai, is a 25-year resident of Lake Parsippany, an ex-Marine, and a cybersecurity professional.

- *Barberio, Republican — 9,542 votes (50.39%)
- Desai, Democrat —9,333 votes (49.92%)

- Frank Neglia, Republican — 8,401 votes (23.16%)
- Jigar Shah, Republican — 7,962 votes (21.95%)
