Driver Airlifted To Hospital Following Crash On I-80 In Morris County

Police said the driver slammed into a parked and unoccupied truck on the shoulder of Interstate 80 in Morris County early Monday morning.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A Morris County woman was injured early Monday morning after her SUV slammed into a truck parked on the shoulder of Interstate 80 in Rockaway Township, New Jersey State Police said.

Brianna Mahoney, 28, from Kenvil, was flown to a nearby hospital following the crash, which was reported at 2:56 a.m., Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

Police added that she sustained serious injuries during the crash, but her current condition was not made available as of late Monday morning.

According to initial reports, Mahoney, who was driving westbound around milepost 33.1 in Rockaway Township, veered onto the right shoulder and struck the rear of a stopped, unoccupied box truck.

The crash is still under official investigation, Lebron said.
