Farmers Market Canceled Due To Forecasted Storms In Parsippany
The township's weekly farmers market was scheduled for Friday afternoon.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The Parsippany Farmers Market has been canceled for Friday because of impending storms, township officials announced.
The free market is typically held on Fridays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Veteran's Memorial Park on Route 46.
The National Weather Service predicts showers before 2 p.m. on Friday, followed by evening showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some storms may produce strong winds.

Here's the National Weather Service's latest weekend forecast for Parsippany:
- Friday: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2 p.m. High near 64. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
- Friday night: Rain and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then rain likely between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., then showers likely after 5 a.m. Low around 54. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming north after midnight. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch.
- Saturday: Showers likely, mainly before 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are possible.
The market, which has been appearing in town weekly since June 9, will officially close for the season on Oct. 27, according to township officials.
