Fire Shut Down Busy Hanover Road Thursday
Breaking: Police say the road has reopened after being closed in both directions.

HANOVER, NJ — A fire shut down a major Hanover road in both directions for about an hour Thursday morning, police said.
Algonquin Parkway was closed between Melanie Lane and Troy Road as of 10:50 a.m., police said. It reopened before noon.
An investigation into a fire and utilities was the reason for the closure. Police did not say where the fire is; that stretch of road is home to several businesses, gyms, and childcare centers.

At the time the closure was announced, JCP&L was reporting 201 customers in Hanover and 187 in East Hanover currently without power. It's not clear if those outages were related to the fire.
