Former Parsippany Science Teacher Passes Away
Greg Rottegen taught science in Parsippany for 35 years.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Longtime Parsippany science teacher Greg O. Rottegen has passed away. He was 74.
Rottegen worked as a science teacher in various Parsippany schools for 35 years, and was a bowling coach at Warren Hills High School.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Hibernia (Rockaway Twp.) before moving to Washington, NJ 20 years ago. He served in the U S Army during the Viet Nam War and earned his BS Degree in Science from William Paterson University. He was a science teacher in the Parsippany schools for 35 years, was a member of the NJEA, was an avid hunter and fisherman, a Professional Bowling Association member since 1996 and a USBC Silver Level Coach since 1994. He was also a staff member of Storm and Vise Bowling Products as well. He coached Warren Hills High School girls bowling team to a New Jersey State Championship in 2016 and the boys team to a third place finish, and was inducted into the Morris County Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his sister, six nieces and nephews and a former wife.
