Hey, Parsippany NYC Commuters Salary Transparency Starts Today, Nov 1

Starting November 1, 2022 NYC employers advertising jobs must offer salary ranges for jobs, promotions and transfer opportunities.

With a commuter bus parking lot right in town, it is no secret that many people who live in Parsippany work in NYC. Beginning today, November 1, 2022, the law states that “employers advertising jobs in New York City must include a good faith salary range for every job, promotion, and transfer opportunity advertised.”

Now, it’s not just the prospective employer asking the employee in an interview, “What are your salary expectations?” Potential employees in New York can go in with at least a range in mind. Below are a few jobs posted on Indeed.com today for New York City, all of which had posted salaries or ranges.

  • UPS Package handler: “up to $20.25 per hour”
  • Administrative Assistant (MCR Hotels) $70,000-$80,000 per year
  • Police Officer, NY National Parks $62,446 - $67,769
  • Engineer (Packaging Development), Olaplex $119,000-$150,000 per year
  • Electrician Port Authority - $75,608 - $115,778 per year
  • McDonald’s Crew Member NYC - From $15 per hour
  • Junior Trader, Nomura Holdings - $110,00 -$125,000 per year
  • Hair Stylist/Colorist, One Salon - $70,000-$250,000 per year
  • Construction Project Manager, H&M - $97,000-$110,000 per year
  • Cook, Columbia University - $23.87 per hour
  • Software Engineer (recent grad), Paypal - $109,000-$138,000 per year
  • Web Developer 1-800-FLOWERS - $100,000 - $120,000 per year
