'High Level' Morris County Drug Dealer Busted With 165 Grams of Cocaine: Prosecutor

Months-long investigation results in arrest of Dover resident Wednesday, authorities said.

A months-long investigation in to a “high level” drug dealer in Morris County concluded this week when police seized more than 165 grams of cocaine worth $16,500, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp announced.

Police arrested Norma Elena Luna-Arrieta, 41, of Dover on Nov. 18 when they seized more than 165 grams of cocaine, $4,800 in cash, drug paraphernalia, including cutting agents, drug packaging materials, and digital scales, Knapp said.

Authorities received information in recent months regarding high level cocaine distribution in and around Dover with Luna-Arrieta as a primary suspect, Knapp said. Police closed in Wednesday night and made the arrest in Dover, along with the seizure of contraband, Knapp said.

Luna-Arrieta was charged with:

  • 1 count of first-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine).
  • 1 count of second-degree Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (cocaine).
  • 1 count of second-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine).
  • 1 count of second-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a park zone (cocaine).
  • 1 count of third-degree Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (cocaine).
  • 1 count of third-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine).
  • 3 counts of third-degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (cocaine).

Luna-Arrieta was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $200,000 with no 10-percent option and will be required to present a valid government identification prior to release, Knapp said.
