PARSIPPANY, NJ — Parsippany could be in for a dreary weekend as Hurricane Ian makes its way through New Jersey. But the township should still receive less rain than most of the Garden State, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect rain to begin overnight — mainly after 3 a.m. Saturday in the Parsippany area. The National Weather Service doesn't anticipate a sunny day in the township until Wednesday.

The National Weather Service predicted 1-1.5 inches of rain falling through Sunday. That's better than most of the state, as weather officials anticipate 3-4 inches to fall along much of the Jersey Shore coastline. Read more: Hurricane Ian's Impact On NJ: Torrential Rains, Flooding, High Gusts
