Hurricane Ian's Impact On Parsippany: Heavy Rain, Gusts In Forecast

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Parsippany could be in for a dreary weekend as Hurricane Ian makes its way through New Jersey. But the township should still receive less rain than most of the Garden State, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect rain to begin overnight — mainly after 3 a.m. Saturday in the Parsippany area. The National Weather Service doesn't anticipate a sunny day in the township until Wednesday.

The weather agency expects northeast winds of 10-20 mph throughout the weekend, with gusts up to 30 mph Saturday and Sunday.

Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.
• Saturday night: A chance of rain before 9 p.m., then a chance of showers after 9 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 51. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Sunday: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 60. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
