Longtime Parsippany Resident, Volunteer Dies At 57

Irene Palmieri was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Parsippany Elks Lodge.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – Both professionally and personally, Irene Palmieri served others.

The longtime Parsippany residents died recently at the age of 57.

Born in Brooklyn, Palmieri moved to Parsippany in the 1960s and went on to be a waitress at Arthur’s Tavern in Morris Plains for many years.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Parsippany Elks BPO Lodge #2078. She loved the beach and enjoyed attending the New Jersey State Elks Convention every year in Wildwood.

Palmieri is predeceased by her daughter, Nicole, who died in March 2011.

She is survived by two daughters, a son, and one grandson.

A visitation will be held at Par-Troy Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 24. Memorial donations may be made to Susan G. Komen, 44 Middle Avenue, Second Floor, Summit, NJ 07901.
